hello, this blog is made up of the thoughts of David Baker. its main purpose is to air out things that i am studying or just random thoughts i might have at any given moment. most times it will be about God or theology, but there maybe times when i just have something else on my mind.... John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

I NEED HELP!!
im trying to study the E.S.V and find out what it was translated out of and if there are errors in it ( if any ) also, if it omits verses or not. i have been looking all night and can find nothing but praise about this bible. are we to believe there is another version out there as sound as my beloved K.J.V.? i would never put my K.J.V. down anyway but want to be informed on this because i see this version popping up everywhere!

That site gives you info on the translation. It looks like it was a revision of the RSV which means that it is still based upon the corrupted Alexandrian texts. Meaning, the verses and phrases that are missing in the modern versions will be missing in that one.
For example: Acts 8:37 is not in there, I John 5:7 is not in there, 1 Timothy 3:16 changes "God was manifest in the flesh" to "He was manifested in the flesh." (When you're talking about Christ and you say, He was manifested in the flesh - it's not that big a deal, but when you say God was manifest - that changes everything!)
So, yeah, this is just another translation from corrupted texts. If you translate from a corrupted text you will get a corrupted translation...
thanks andy!!!
